Following Faithorn Farrell Timms’ (FFT) move to Celnor Group, Senior Partner Robin Faithorn has reflected on the decision to join the Group in a recent interview with Initium Corporate Finance.
FFT joined Celnor’s Risk Management division in December 2025, bringing 25 years of property consultancy and professional services expertise to the Group.
For Robin and his fellow partner Colin Farrell, finding the right home for the business was about much more than the transaction itself. Having received interest from a number of potential buyers, the FFT team considered several options as they looked at succession planning and the long-term future of the business, including what set Celnor apart during the process and what FFT’s experience has been since becoming part of the Group.
With support from corporate finance advisers Initium, FFT received a number of offers. While each presented a different opportunity, Robin says the relationship with Celnor stood out.
“We actually had a very good rapport with Simon Parrington, the CEO of Celnor. We liked him, we liked his team, and from the first day we thought they would be a good match and shared some values that we had in terms of moving our business forward and, more importantly, looking after our staff and taking it on from there.”
That focus on people and shared values was an important part of FFT’s decision to join Celnor.
Celnor’s approach is centred on supporting specialist businesses to grow while allowing them to retain the identity, expertise and entrepreneurial culture that made them successful in the first place. Member companies continue to operate with day-to-day autonomy, supported by the resources, expertise, and opportunities available across the wider Group.
Several months into the partnership, Robin says the reality has lived up to those early conversations.
“I think the outcome has been very good. The transition has been well managed by ourselves, and Celnor have been very helpful in that process. It’s gone very well.”
He also highlighted Celnor’s approach to the day-to-day management of its member businesses as one of the factors that attracted FFT to the Group.
“One of the attractions of selling to Celnor was that they said they have a sort of light touch in terms of business management. And that’s the way it’s transpired.”
For Celnor, Robin’s experience reflects an important part of our approach to growth: supporting successful businesses and their people without losing the qualities that made those businesses successful in the first place.
By providing access to wider Group resources and opportunities while maintaining operational autonomy, our aim is to give member companies the platform and support they need for their next stage of growth.
Reflecting on FFT’s journey so far, Simon Parrington, Founder and CEO of Celnor Group, said:
“FFT have been a fantastic addition to Celnor. From the outset, Robin and the team have really embraced being part of the Group, while continuing to build on everything that makes FFT such a successful business. It’s been particularly encouraging to see them collaborating with other Celnor member companies and making the most of the opportunities that come from being part of a wider Group such as taking part in Learning at Celnor programmes and utilising the resources provided by our Central Acquisition Team to recruit new colleagues. They’ve also recently launched their new website, which is another exciting step forward for the business. FFT are a great example of what we want being part of Celnor to look like – retaining their own identity and expertise, while sharing ideas, building relationships, and finding new opportunities across the Group. We’re delighted to have them as part of Celnor and I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next.”
With the transition well underway, FFT continues to build on its established expertise, client relationships and culture as part of the wider Celnor Group.
Robin’s reflections provide a first-hand perspective on that experience – from assessing potential partners and choosing Celnor to what being part of the Group looks like in practice.
