Sustainability at Celnor

At Celnor, we believe that responsible business is good business. Our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) programme brings together the actions we are taking to protect the environment, support our people, operate with integrity and make a positive contribution to the communities and industries we serve.

Guided by our core values, we are developing a consistent approach to sustainability across the Group. From understanding and reducing our environmental impacts to supporting colleague wellbeing, maintaining high ethical standards and working responsibly with suppliers, ESG helps shape how we grow and create long-term value.

People and Culture

Our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating workplaces where colleagues can work safely, feel valued and have opportunities to develop and succeed.
As a growing group, we recognise the importance of supporting both personal and professional development. Through wellbeing initiatives, leadership development programmes, professional training and career development opportunities, we help colleagues build skills, broaden their experience and achieve their potential. We also bring people together from across the Group to share knowledge, build connections and learn from one another.
Underpinning everything we do is a commitment to fair and ethical employment practices, respect for human rights, and a culture built on inclusion, mutual respect and teamwork.

Communities and Industry Impact

We believe in making a positive contribution beyond our day-to-day operations. We support local charities, community initiatives and fundraising activities that matter to our colleagues and the communities in which we operate. Through our matched funding programme, we help colleagues increase the impact of their fundraising efforts and support causes that are important to them. We are also proud signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant, reflecting our commitment to supporting members of the Armed Forces community.

We also value of the expertise our people contribute to the wider industry. Many of our colleagues participate in professional bodies, industry working groups and technical committees, helping to shape standards, share knowledge and promote best practice across the sectors we serve. Together, these activities help create positive outcomes for the communities, industries and clients we support.

Environmental Responsibility

Environmental stewardship is closely aligned with the services many of our businesses provide. Every day, our companies help clients address environmental challenges through specialist testing, monitoring, compliance and consultancy services.

We are committed to applying the same principles to our own operations. Celnor measures greenhouse gas emissions across its companies, including Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions. By looking beyond our direct operations and considering impacts across our wider value chain, we gain a more complete understanding of our environmental footprint and can identify opportunities for improvement as we continue to grow.

Alongside measuring our emissions, we are working to reduce waste, improve resource efficiency and strengthen environmental practices across our businesses. As Celnor continues to grow, we are developing a consistent approach to environmental management that helps us understand our impacts, identify opportunities for improvement and make more sustainable choices.

Ethics and Governance

Trust, integrity and professional standards are fundamental to our business. As Celnor grows, strong governance helps ensure that responsible decision-making remains at the centre of everything we do.

Our Board, Executive Leadership Team and ESG Committee provide oversight of ESG priorities, risk management and business performance across the Group, helping to ensure that responsible business practices remain embedded in our culture and decision-making.

Our Employee Code of Conduct sets out the standards and behaviours expected across the Group, providing a clear framework for acting with integrity, treating others with respect and maintaining the professional standards that underpin our culture.

Vision

Our Supply Chain

Our suppliers play an important role in helping us deliver the high-quality services our customers expect. We aim to build long-term relationships with organisations that share our values and commitment to doing business responsibly.
Our Supplier Code of Conduct sets out the standards we expect in areas such as ethical business behaviour, health and safety, environmental responsibility, information security and legal compliance. It helps ensure that everyone we work with understands the principles that guide our approach to responsible business.

Strong supplier relationships are built on trust and transparency. We support the principles of the Fair Payment Code and are committed to promoting fair payment practices that help suppliers and partners operate with confidence.

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking

Everyone deserves to be treated fairly, with dignity and respect. That’s why we are committed to helping prevent modern slavery, human trafficking and exploitation across our businesses and supply chain.

We work with suppliers and partners who share these values and regularly review how we manage potential risks. This includes carrying out an annual modern slavery risk assessment and continually improving our approach as the Group grows.

Speaking Up

Creating a culture where people feel comfortable speaking up is an important part of doing business responsibly. We encourage colleagues, suppliers, customers and other stakeholders to raise concerns where they believe something may be unsafe, unethical or inconsistent with our values.

Our Speak Up process provides a confidential reporting route and helps ensure concerns can be raised and considered fairly and appropriately.
