Three years ago, Celnor Group began with an ambition to build a leading Testing, Inspection, Certification and Compliance (TICC) group where great businesses could retain what made them successful while benefiting from the investment, expertise and opportunities that come with being part of something bigger.
Today, as we celebrate our third anniversary, the Group has reached a series of significant milestones.
In the last three years we have:
- welcomed 2,400 colleagues to the Group
- welcomed 50 member companies
- brought together businesses with a combined 1,000 years of trading history
- provided more than 400 training and development opportunities for our colleagues
- created 125 new jobs
- rolled out standard enterprise class systems for finance, business intelligence, HR and recruitment
- invested in dozens of growth projects to support organic growth across the Group
- developed a comprehensive TICC solution spanning property, assets and infrastructure
Behind those numbers are teams united by a shared culture and a commitment to working together as one – sharing expertise, creating opportunities, and delivering more for our clients.
Enabling great businesses to grow
Adding new member companies has played an important role in our growth, but the strategy has always been about more than just adding businesses. From the beginning, we’ve sought out successful, entrepreneurial companies that share our values and have the potential to achieve even more with the right support behind them.
Once part of the Group, member companies retain their identity, technical expertise, and entrepreneurial approach, while gaining access to investment and a growing Enablement Team spanning people, finance, IT, legal, marketing, commercial expertise, and business growth.
This support has helped member companies invest in new locations, laboratories, services, technology, and people, while collaboration across the Group is increasingly creating opportunities to share expertise, work together on client projects and access larger and more complex opportunities.
Founder and CEO Simon Parrington said:
“Three years is a relatively short amount of time, but the achievements of our colleagues during that period have been remarkable. From the businesses that took that first step with us in 2023 to those that have joined us more recently, every company and every colleague has played a part in building Celnor.
“Reaching 50 member companies and 2,400 colleagues are significant milestones, but I’m equally proud of the growth happening within our businesses. We’ve created new jobs, invested in our people, launched new services and locations, and supported our companies to pursue opportunities that may not have been possible independently.
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone across Celnor for their contribution over the last three years. We have achieved a great deal together, but there is still a huge amount of opportunity ahead of us.”
The next chapter
While Celnor’s first three years have established a strong platform, our ambitions continue to grow. Expansion across North America will form an increasingly important part of the next stage of the Celnor story, strengthening our platform for long-term growth.
Alongside new member companies, we will continue investing in organic growth across our existing member companies, supporting new services, locations, technology, people, and cross-group collaboration.
The principles behind that growth will remain the same as they were at the beginning: finding high-quality, like-minded businesses, protecting the expertise, culture and legacy that made them successful, and giving their teams the support and investment to achieve their ambitions.
Simon concluded:
“We’ve always said that growth can’t come at the expense of what makes our businesses special. As we look to the next three years and beyond, our focus remains on finding like-minded companies that share our values and our commitment to their people and clients.
“There is a lot more we want to achieve. We will continue investing in our existing businesses, developing our colleagues, growing internationally, and bringing more exceptional TICC companies into the Group.
“The scale of Celnor may have changed considerably in three years, but the values and principles we started with haven’t.”
