Simon Clennell-Jones has joined Celnor Group as Managing Director for our Geoenvironmental sector.
Simon brings a wealth of experience to the role and is well-known in the industry. Previously, he has worked at WSP, ARCADIS and, most recently, Delta-Simons, where he was instrumental in the growth of the geoenvironmental, geotechnical and transactional due diligence divisions into one of the UK’s leading independent land contamination consultancy providers. He was part of the leadership team that sold the Delta-Simons business to Lucion Group in 2021.
In addition, Simon is a Chartered Environmentalist and Chartered Scientist. His technical focus has been around land contamination in real estate development, from small sites through to some of the largest, most contaminated sites in the UK. His broad experience ranges from initial assessment to remediation design and implementation, giving him a deep understanding of the interaction of technical and commercial project drivers.
Simon has provided environmental due diligence and transaction support on significant property portfolios on both the vendor and purchaser side of real estate. He has an established track record working on complex and challenging development sites with multiple stakeholder requirements. Simon’s experience includes project leadership on the investigation and reclamation of a significant number of small to large sites, and he has acted on behalf of parties as an expert witness on a number of high-profile cases. He will bring this significant experience to the management of our Geoenvironmental companies, GIP, AF Howland and Brownfield Solutions.
Simon Clennell-Jones tells us, “I am thrilled to become part of the Celnor team at this exciting time as we bring more successful businesses into the group. I have already met some great people and I am really looking forward to working collaboratively with them. As the drive for sustainable development accelerates there is a significant opportunity for our teams to help clients reduce carbon footprints across their projects.”
Group CEO, Simon Parrington, said, “We are delighted to add a colleague of Simon’s calibre and experience to Celnor. His track record demonstrates his capability, and a number of our businesses will benefit from his support. We are all looking forward to working with him.”
